You get a really familiar notion after seeing this photo what's moon been up to lately...

ya, i know, shopping...

But consider it no harm done when...

it's just a bunch of delicious SNACKS!!!

we got mini donuts, japanese senbei crackers, japanese mochi, taiwanese 方块酥, some dried seafood, dan lain lain....

:)

I heard something on tvmobile that made me laugh a little...

If sex was dessert, we would all be a little fatter...

For those anorexic idiots, they should abstain from sex for the rest of their lives...:)

Me and my little sis sometimes love being couch potatoes with a brainless read of the crazy shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella. We even attempted to live out the life of one crazy girl called Becky Bloomwood, who's a hell of a shopaholic.

Did we match up to her abilities? Check out the madness at Vivo the other day:

I pretend i'm a closet supermodel, or a fitting room supermodel, with those narcissistic poses and great clothes:

in the Pull and Bear room I think they forgot to hang a door hanger that says: "Supermodel changing, do not disturb, do not peep"

we spent an agonising long time at topshop, trying out ridiculous mix of clothes. I finally got my jeans....:)anyway, i love that grey top, anyone?

couldn't even resist photographing myself in my usual clothes....sometimes i amaze myself so much because of this ability to morph and evolve into a total bimbo when im in the fittin room...omg

I finally spent my $60 forever 21 vouchers courtesy of YY,kim and jon. :) And in the photos are the classic plaid shorts that are so in now, though they made me look like a pyjamas sleepyhead, so of coz i didn't get them. weitingxiaomei did get a green one though.

Sometimes i wonder whether i'm being a bad influence on my xiaomei, fanning her shopping instincts. It's not that i'm brand conscious that i love all the stuff in these shops, it's just that mango zara topshop river island forever21 sometimes stocks lovely things and i can't keep my hands off them. woots.

We had dinner at Marche...and it was good.

a small plate of rosti with smoked salmon to whet a tiny model's appetite...WAHAHAHA
(trust me, i had more than that)

And...

Adios!

Caught the blockbuster flu lately and have watched so many movies...and am going to watch more...

but top on my list is MY HANDSOME PIRATE swashbuckling rum-drinking pirate-talk-speaking Captain Jacksparrow's movie...i won't say it was magnificiently great, but you know Captain Jacksparrow started hallucinating and out pop so many Jacksparrow...wootx, double triple quadruple the fun!!!!

Shrek 3, being the typical family movie was fun, cute and heartwarming....:)

anyway, we finally went for Jac's treat at Hog's Breath Vivo, would be a restaurant i would recommend to all meat lovers...try the ribs...

Photos:

wooh, i guess it's the street fest nearing, fancy guarding the forever 21 sale...LOL

the Hog's Breath interior... cowboy wild

Buffalo wings.

BBQ Pork Ribs, i thought they were better than Billy's.

I had the Natural Prime Ribs. Restaurant's specialty. Really succulent. Goes very well with the salad sauce for the buffalo wings teehee.

Best. The apple crumble is a must-try.

US!

Finally both my sisters are done with their exams(though it has nothing much to do with me) and we managed to do some real catchin up on Friday. Went for the movies with weitingxiaomei and we watched two movies in a row. Spiderman 3 actually exceeded my expectations because i always thought that franchise movies tend to "lose it" in the end, but it was a great way to round up the trilogy. I actually appreciated the fact that there were more villains though people around me were complaining that there wasn't enough time to develop the characters. Action blockbusters just need that bit of a kick!

Bridge to Terabithia was surprising though, because i thought since it's a work by the same producers behind Narnia, it'll be about the same. But in the end it was just a fictional land made up by two kids lettin their imagination run wild. Good that there's a moral behind the story, that is not to inhibit your creativity and imagination, and let the author out of yourself, but it's a bit too long and draggy after you know it's all not real.

We actually had dinner at Billy's after the movies, with weiyingermei joining us, and her "nicole jokes" had us laughing crazily. Anyway, the food wasn't that great, at least it didn't taste as great as i would want it to be. I would always be eyeing that plate on the customer's table and thinkin it looked so good. But well ya noe, looks are deceiving.

Kidsread was lots of fun too with the camping trip game and we actually came up with the party idea. It's going to be safari-themed and we're going to do a mock campfire. Animal food, animal games will be a great way to round up the last session. Am so gonna miss the kids...esp. darwisyah (damnit, i really show favouritism, that's why i'll stick to the decision of neva eva bein a teacher)

And gosh, i did receive spring greetings from Santa:

And almost nobody in the family took my word when i exclaimed that "YES, I DO BELIEVE SANTA CLAUS EXISTS!"

You know what, i'm going to Finland once i get the money, and bring back some evidence to show Santa's existence.

Bridge to Terabithia brainwashed me on 11/05/07.

another new dish....

Purple Potato Salad

Ingredients:
-4 tablespoons olive oil
-2 lemons
-200g fraiche fromage (it's actually white cheese. Search hard in the mart)
-200g purple sweet potatos
-250g baby potatoes
-Handful of fresh mint leaves (chopped)
-Handful of parsley (chopped) (Can be any types of chives)
-Ground black pepper

1. Mix olive oil, juice from lemons and the cheese.
2. Cook the potatoes in plenty of boiling salt water for 20 mins. Drain well.
3. Cool potatoes. Rub off skins with knife (damn hot sia!) slice into bite sized pieces.
4. Mix with dressing
5. Add herbs and season with ground black pepper.

Easy steps...taste good if you're a potato lover like me.

Cheers

i cooked again. but i think there's something wrong with the recipe, because it says serves 4, but i ended up with one big giant bowl of potatoes.

Like they say, don't follow the rules strictly.

Anyway, the recipe:

Potatoes with Spicy tomato Sauce
INGREDIENTS:
-2 kg baby potatoes (they come in packs if you go to the supermarket)
-2 onions
-3 cloves garlic
-1 teaspoon red chilli
-olive oil
-salt and pepper
-1 kg tomatoes
-water 250ml
-125g tomato paste
-vinegar
-soft brown sugar

STEPS:
1. Peel and cut the potatoes and place in a baking dish.
2. Drizzle 2 tablespoon olive oil and sprinkle with 1 tsp salt and pepper
3. Bake 180 degree celsius for 50 mins.

4. While baking, prepare the sauce. First, chop onions, garlic and tomato.
5. Heat 2 tablespoon olive oil in heavy-based pan.
6. Add onion, garlic and red chilli. Keep at medium heat for 5 mins.
7. Add tomato paste and add some water. Stir evenly for 3 mins.
8. Add 250ml water, tomato, 1 tablespoon vinegar, 1 teaspoon brown sugar. Heat to a boil and stir.
9. Simmer for 25 mins.

10. Final step is to pour the sauce over the baked potatoes. Ta-dah!

Anyway, i might go apply for the Billy Bomber's job tomorrow. Nowadays, it's either shoppin, the computer or cooking. I'm becoming more like a modern tai-tai, minus the expensive high teas and mahjong sessions. Today, it's headache over who to get to write the appraisals, luckily i got Mr V to agree. Now waiting for Mr Chan's and Reshma's answer..

Some words i looked up today:
Schadenfreude--basically it means delight at other peoples' misfortunes
Mien- inner state of mind, character worried mien, i tend to link it to the word demeanour
indefatigable--from the word fatigue, meaning seemingly incapable of feeling fatigue
indubitable--from the word doubt, meaning unquestionable

I don't really know whether you should blame it on weak constituition or i should just throw up my hands and say "I'm so DAMN SUAY", because ms moon has fallen sick again. This seems to be a "at least once in 3 mths" occurence hence it shouldn't be treated lightly. But i totally dread going to the doctor and i can't overcome that inertia to knock on the doc's door. Self-medication will do this time, again.

But don't worry, just a light sore throat, cough, and flu. Should be over within a few days.

Anyway, i just read the last issue of Time and i think most of us should go get a copy and read the few articles on the power of the mind and on how scientists can't seem to fathom how the mind works. The article on consciousness especially intrigues.

Have been reading Gaarder's Solitare Mystery lately and the fiction book's brings you deep ideas of philosophy: in discovering the mysteries of the world and the greater universe and also in identifying the truth that man not only knows not much about himself, but also knows almost nothing about his surroundings and the universe. Gaarder's books most often is linked with religious explanations on the worlds' mysteries and his ideas are almost linked with God and greater beings whom he's still grappling to identify with. But because of the way the book is written, with usually great story plot and interesting philosophies, he sometimes sucks me so deep into his story that i'm almost converted to believe in some of the "scientifically-unproven" theories that he has come up with (although i'm not a "God-believer" in true sense)

However, after reading these scientific articles on man's attempts to try to explain his own thoughts, im once again brought back to closer reality (It's understandable since i'm usually not much of a philosopher myself) that we shouldn't declare that man is being foolish in thinking that he knows a lot, and in being too absorbed with himself. A lot of scientific discoveries and theories stems from philosophies that man himself came up with, and at least when man declares that he knows very little about the world, he tries to at least prove with effort that he is trying to grapple with what's closest to him: his inner state of mind and thoughts.

I don't really know what i say makes any sense, it's a bit of preliminary thinking, so all those ideas might look more like a rough sketch than a thoroughly thought out piece, but i'd just thought philosophers and scientist can actually shake hands and make friends.

Enough about the woo-ha about all these....went shopping with Jac at Vivo yesterday and snatched some bargains. I bought an S & K long sleeve top for less than 20 and it's been so long since i got something from S & K (presumably because this top didn't look as S&K, blah blah). And i bought something for less than 20 from Zara?!(Can you believe it?!)

Went King's Satay at the Cannery after that, i really love Clarke Quay's atmosphere at night:

King's Satay is famous for its.............Satay! Duh.

Murtubak was good.

The prata wih "unique" topping was good too.

Roti John was good "three".

When it comes to good food, im lost for words. Anyway, King's Satay is a must-go because no service charge no gst, hohoho.

Oh....and weiyingermei scored an 8 for the O's. Wootx, one point better than me. Now,it's time for her to be in a dilemma, S.A or no S.A?

BTW, i'm soooo soooo worried about the A's.

Me and mummy don't see eye to eye on some issues, for example how we cook.

I guess all mums and daughters don't see eye to eye on this particular issue. Because my dear mummy assumes the kitchen is her haven, and she is damn downright possessive when it comes to me using the kitchen.

And we can't agree on the fact that i'd like to use measuring spoons and weighing scales for the first time i try a dish, she thinks its too troublesome.

Luckily the okra turned out great(although she doesn't seem to think so)

And i was soooo furious with her this morning because she threw away the christmas cards my friends sent(might be yours). Nono, i wasn't furious because of that, i was furious because she didn't seem to feel that she was in the wrong. Damnit. And it became my fault in the end because i shouldn't have raised my voice. She owes me so many apologies, but im writing all off just because yeah, SHE GAVE BIRTH TO ME.

Whoever came up with the rule that MUMMIES ARE ALWAYS RIGHT, SCREW U!

But we're ok now, since i went for some marketing therapy, and i cool down after that.

A pic of the delicious sambal chilli okra:

Went cycling yesterday with ms lai yy. Exercise is good for health, though not for the butt, since it's been hurtin, LOL.

PICTURES:

BRUEE BRUEE SKY. a some sort of ecogarden thingie we chanced upon. Great weather for biking

Biking is damn cheap at ecp, 5 bucks for 2 hours. Value for money. Anyway, something interesting happened when we went strolling by the beach. Baaa...ms lai's slipper got washed away by the tide:) because she was trying to 'rescue' my yellow slipper. HOHOHO. And she dumbly called jerald tang to come rescue her slipper, but of course he didnt, since he was far away. I'd bet he would if he was just nearby, haha, since yokeyee is a SHREW (jkjk).

Left one shoe nia

Ms LAI

MISS MOON is ecstatic. the sky, the sea.

I made footprints. Pretty one hor.

They say fair is the new tan. But im damn red now. So where does that place me?

badly burnt

Baa..sometimes my entry reads like i am a twelve year old kid who's barely past her adolescent period.
