Close friends around me know i have so many laogong*s i can't even remember how many i have. But to help you tell them apart(it's actually rather easy), and to save the trouble of asking which laogong i'm referring to the next time when i scream "MY LAOGONG" in glee...here's a little wikipedia help from me:

Actually, they all have something similar, which is, they are kind of old. Because Ms Moon prefers her men mature and ok....old.

I think the first guy here is almost every woman's fantasy, because he's oh-so-eccentric. And you guess it right if you've discovered that I like the guys unshaven and unkempt.

I love him in all his indie films..great acting chops are always a bonus. Anyway, Captain Jacksparrow was a good one too, apparently, every woman loves a pirate with a bottle of rum.

Then we have Mr A-Yue:

Rocker/ Musician has a style that shouts flamboyant. He's the only guy i'd find cute and sizzling in a pair of kiddy berms. No kidding. Anyway, please buy his new album. Oh... 思念是一种病...oh...

Ok, now, if you didn't forget, i once said Shi Xiong from scifoc was hot, and that's because he bears a teeny weeny resemblance to my Laogong, Francis Ng aka 吴振宇. A bit gay, a bit man, he's the perfect anatomy of a modern metrosexual. :)woots

The last one im introducing is local and REAL! Because i touched him. .....ARGH

Okok, i shook hands with him. He's Mr Vivian Balakrishnan.

I'm smitten with him because he always gives a charismatic smile and a charismatic speech. I'm hopeless.

I hope now you have a clear idea who's who...told you it wasn't that difficult, eh? My new eye candy, btw, is Ron Weasley aka Rupert Grint, he's not old, but he's cute and tall.

Anyway, the other day was my last day at Billy Bombers, and we took some crazy photos:

adrian just won't smile

zhongliang, me and mr donz

me and aiman with our beloved soggy fries

me and amy-san

Naturally, i won't miss the cleaning of tables, mopping of floors and all the dirty work, but i'll miss:

1. the positive feedback forms from the customers
2. ridiculous customers who are great entertainment only when you're in a good mood
3. looking at shuaiges while hosting. The other day, while i was standing Area A, the guy with the crutches was cute. (shameless)
4. playin word games with jac
5. catchin xiaoqiang for amy
6. gossipin about Alex...i know this sounds bad, but aiyah, words can't kill him, he's from a weird species.
7. meeting mr donz's gaze and then giggling after that. it's almost a ritual.
8. listen to mr donz serenade the moon....MOON RIVER....
9. tryin to annoy Haze, only sometimes. Honestly, she isn't that bad.
10. talking to Aiman. Aiman sometimes asks really weird questions, but i always love answering them. You rock man.
11. crappin with seow si min. this one is ultimate.
12. wondering why Adrian doesn't smile.
13. eating cold and soggy fries
14. Free Ben and Jerry's!!!
15. the 25% staff discount!!!!!

OK.

I was turnin around in my bed yesterday because i was thinkin too much. Seow simin will kill me if she reads this, but i thought of her two arch nemesis while in bed yesterday. They are Mr Marcius and Mr Edwin. Where are they? I haven't heard from them in such a long time, i bet they've been abducted by their fellow Martians. I'm itchin to go on some shootin expe, my deviantart is rottin and fallin apart, due to the dearth of works. Yet, i still haven't got any good gear to shoot with.Feel like joinin noisesingapore or the stomp comp. Anyway, guys, please do some browsing at my gallery if you have the time, they badly need some visiting. it's effendi-x.deviantart.com

There are a few changes at BB's this week, with newcomers like Angel(not the angel that we know, some girl called Angelina), a new supervisor Haze who seems reasonably nice, and BOO...Mandy's leavin us next week for Cineleisure.

I'd say besides Simin and Jac, Mandy is the one who keeps me entertained in BB, because she is one of the few decent beings there i can relate to, haha.

Actually workin at BB is a source of stress too, as i continually urge myself not to make a single mistake at work. The other day, i fell three times in the kitchen because of slippery shoes and broke a plate, and it was the same unlucky day i missed Spiderman because all the tickets were booked. Yesterday was great because i didn't make mistakes, because although great men once said you learn from mistakes, ms moon hates making mistakes. Urgh.

Spiderman frenzy. Long queues outside cinemas, all timeslots red red and red. Franchise movies are the hot stuff for the coming months, with all movie titles ending with a number, Spiderman 3, Shrek 3, Pirates trilogy, Ocean's Thirteen, Harry Potter trilogy.....

And people are great sports when they don ugly loud Spiderman shirts when they go watch the movie, so much for the right attire for the right occasion.

Started my part-time waitressin job and it's been enjoyable so far. Mainly because:

1. I'm usually allowed to talk.

2. I love doing sai gang.

3. The manager Irene is as Simin and Jac described, friendly and nice

4. It's only 4 hours so time really flies...fooo.........

Don't want to go into details about what i do, it's just the usual stuff of servin and keeping the restaurant spick and span.

Anyway, i went supermarket shoppin again yesterday at Fairprice, and it was the first time i shopped with the giant trolley alone. And trolley shoppin is so much more fun than basket shopping, i'm clinging on the to trolley next time i hit the mart again! Well, got the stuff for my purple potato salad and cheesy peas, will try em' out and show you guys again!

Jolin's concert is this saturday! But Ade said the guests are Energy which is so....argh....Stanley please come...

We went back for NPCC's inter-soccer tournament the other day(we meaning me, huiling, yy, boss and kim) with the sole purpose to root for our team, and when we reached there, we discovered that there was no cchsm team. But it was really good to see all your old friends, cadets and the mams and sirs. Couldn't get what Guohui was babbling on about...but he was sure entertaining, and we were musing about the weird relationship between boss and his precious Guohui, LOL.

Kok Keong sir is now the OC of the Telok Kurau unit, and it wasn't surprising that after 3 or 4 years, he couldn't remember our names anymore. But he was really warm and friendly and we talked alot under the shady tree..hoho. He's really good at keeping the conversation going and we talked about his MOE stuff, teaching, our school life in Chung Cheng, Teck Leong Sir's wedding (surprisingly), NS, and alot of things under the sun. And we did came to a conclusion that Chung Chengians don't have to know each other to "click" well, since we come from a very different background as many others. (I'd bet my Chung Cheng friends will agree with me, because you know a Chung Cheng person when you see one).

Anyway, me, yy, kim and harry were plannin on catching 300 at the cinemas, but couldn't get tickets for the right timing. And we went to Cafe Cartel....hohoho. Kim and harry at Cafe Cartel is really weird. And i can't help laughing at Kim's weird and suaku antics and remarks...never buy ice cream before, don't know how to call waitress come, so excited at the free flow of bread, don't know how to walk to taka. He's a "rare" species indeed.

But it's really fun sittin down and just talk away...

Anyway, it was 清明节 yesterday and Bright Hill was congested with cars and smoke. And guess what, I saw Zhen Bin there!

We went on the lorry and i had to ride in the "Open-air" area, and it was raining. It's really puzzling how it's always raining during 清明. Bet it's because 清明时节雨纷纷 thing going on with the ancient Chinese poets.......

And i do miss my ah gong.

P.S: i'm startin billy bom bom today...wish me luck *cross fingers i don't break anything*

i cooked again. but i think there's something wrong with the recipe, because it says serves 4, but i ended up with one big giant bowl of potatoes.

Like they say, don't follow the rules strictly.

Anyway, the recipe:

Potatoes with Spicy tomato Sauce
INGREDIENTS:
-2 kg baby potatoes (they come in packs if you go to the supermarket)
-2 onions
-3 cloves garlic
-1 teaspoon red chilli
-olive oil
-salt and pepper
-1 kg tomatoes
-water 250ml
-125g tomato paste
-vinegar
-soft brown sugar

STEPS:
1. Peel and cut the potatoes and place in a baking dish.
2. Drizzle 2 tablespoon olive oil and sprinkle with 1 tsp salt and pepper
3. Bake 180 degree celsius for 50 mins.

4. While baking, prepare the sauce. First, chop onions, garlic and tomato.
5. Heat 2 tablespoon olive oil in heavy-based pan.
6. Add onion, garlic and red chilli. Keep at medium heat for 5 mins.
7. Add tomato paste and add some water. Stir evenly for 3 mins.
8. Add 250ml water, tomato, 1 tablespoon vinegar, 1 teaspoon brown sugar. Heat to a boil and stir.
9. Simmer for 25 mins.

10. Final step is to pour the sauce over the baked potatoes. Ta-dah!

Anyway, i might go apply for the Billy Bomber's job tomorrow. Nowadays, it's either shoppin, the computer or cooking. I'm becoming more like a modern tai-tai, minus the expensive high teas and mahjong sessions. Today, it's headache over who to get to write the appraisals, luckily i got Mr V to agree. Now waiting for Mr Chan's and Reshma's answer..

Dear Ron/Boss (since i don't really know you that well),

It would be really magnanimous for us to say that we'll be taking this sorry incident that has recently happened in our stride, because everyone of us is certainly affected by the recent turn of events. However, i would regret to say that this is certainly not a letter of apology if you'd like to think so. Frankly, i took your comment seriously, the one you gave before we left, regarding the fact that what happened was inevitable in the workplace, and that we shouldn't give up before trying, but seriously, use your moronic brain and you'll know that quitting is a decision geniuses make before we get our butts shoved off those hard chairs you provide one day. And thanks for that compliment about my confidence, since it was because of those ridiculous advice and nonsensical English that gave me the strenght to retort back at your "methods of improvement".

However, it would do my resume no justice if your company is going to go bust anytime, so it is of courtesy that i give you 12 pieces of advice which i deem beneficial for your improvement and also the company's improvement:

1. Do not live with the mindset that your employees are desperate for money and dying for your jobs.

Jobs are everywhere, and for some of us, our daily work routines have become dull and mundane. If it's part of your plot to make us go, we are not sorry that we fell for it since it might be sooner or later that we are going to fall for another sinister plot of yours. Wisen up and come up with better ways to take your employees in hand.

2. Do not expose your vulnerabilities in the presence of employees.

No employers tell their employees that they know almost peanuts about their trade. Keep mum, and put up a better act of pretence in order to earn our respect.

3. A good command of English will always get you further.

Nobody will accuse you of being a bad employer if you're not well-versed in the language. However, making ridiculous mistakes in grammar and sentence structure won't get you far, neither will getting your employees to do your work of writing the proposals either.

4. Answer our questions, suggest concrete solutions, don't beat about the bush and do not use threats.

It shows that you are guilty of incompetence when you do not know how to answer our questions. Constantly repeating the words "overcome" and "improve yourself" are not concrete solutions you are offering your subordinates. Threatening to sack someone is a definite no-no because you have only succeeded in incurring the wrath of the majority of us. Do learn how to face the questions we throw in your face in a more appropriate manner.

5. Bribery will only work temporarily.

The notion of you being a good boss will not stay if your attempted bribery of snacks and chocolates are followed by a long meeting of unproductive lecturing. But anyway, thanks for the snacks when i was hungry, im glad you paid for it.

6. Hard-sell tactics are a menace all customers fear.

Give your customers the feeling of being at home, don't resort to gimmicks and tricks, word of mouth and good service will bring you further and earn you more money. We are not goddesses, nobody can force any customer to come if he/she doesnt't like to.

7. Use more foresight when you employ, because a bunch of employees with low efficiency will be a burden to the company.

We are sorry because you might not even have predicted that we would quit on you. Anyway, the amount of complaints that we get from your customers are an indication of your employees' inefficiency and witness of their incompetence.

8. It is important to lead by example.

Maybe rule number 7 should not stand, since we have seen how you always come in late and have witness your disappearing acts. It is difficult to ask the same of employees when you are not a good role model.

9. A mask,a facade of deception is usually unveiled in no time

Do treat your workers with sincerity. It's easy to see through your act of "niceness".

10. "Free" is not an incentive

Not every customer is willing to spare the time and effort, if they are not interested. Aunties and cheapos take to the "free" labels easily, but not everyone are aunties and cheapos.

11. Mete out a "No Smoking" ban.

Under the government, companies which recognise their responsibility to the environment and adopt cleaner practices should be encouraged. In an air-con working environment, mouths that shout "smoke odour" and "bad breath" should be discouraged and banned. In a service industry, a nice smile is not the only thing that matters, for better sales, you actually might have to smell great too.

12. If rule 1-11 does not work out for you, shut down the studio.

This measure has to be carried out in case you spoil the good brand image of your company since the center on the ground floor is actually still doing quite well.

I hope you would take my recommendations seriously and i wish you luck in your future endeavours. :)

Lots of Love,

Moon

U gotta believe in some weird forces of magic when the signs are there:

- your new colleague comes in askin how long you've been workin
- your horoscope warns you against some higher being or authority
- you change your fengshui places at work

cant think of more, but anyway, im just goin in a roundabout way to say:

WE MASS QUIT ON RON!!!!

anyway, went Fisherman's Wharf for dinner with fellow "sales coordinators" the other day. Took photos, and it was meant to be a celebratory dinner for gettin our pay last week. Ended up to be parting shots *sobx*. Talk about bein jinXed....woohoo.

fish and chips didn't taste as good as it looked like. chips were soggy. but with good company, food doesnt really matter.

Crap photos:

me foolin aroung with wf..

me and yoke eeeeee

statue Cindy...shucks, this photo is hilarious

the image of Cindy doin that sexy sultry bite lips pout gives me nightmares....

*chomp* delicious chilli crab bun

Cool qiaoyi...nobody gives that nonchalent expression when "tortured" by wacky wf's stunts.

wf will regret that she ever allowed me to take this one shot..hoho

dearest edwin, haha. The graphic guy who's always poppin his head into the pantry to "sian char bor" as they call it. He's the most decent person there i'd have to say, thanks for the entertainment. Sorry for the suaning. heh.

No regrets that i quit this stupid job, now then i realise. But it's a pity that we cant hang out as we did before. The great simin once said "塞 翁 失 马, 焉 知 非 福”. And i say " 怎 知 这 件 事 不 是 福 呢? "

Great minds think alike.

frankly, everyone sees me almost as calm and collected, occassionally crazy, but temperamental, hohoho....
but somehow i feel like when im at ease at home, i tend to show the real side of me more, hence i talk back to my mum, we squabble, and sometimes i throw tantrums.

nowadays, im workin for almost the entire day, hence little time at home is treasured more, and im pleased about this. I guess the amount of stagnation when the holiday period seems to get longer made me restless, and the ugly side of my personality showed. But now, i've seem to become a better person, yeah!

rushin this entry before work is quite a torture -_-

anyway, went to eastpoint yesterday with mummy and weiying er mei, because of boo's recommendations. It turned out that actually it has improved, tadah! But im kinda dismayed that pet safari has shrunk into just a shop (wasn't it supposed to be a safari) But the sight of cute hamsters did thrill me:

U can try enlarging this pic, to agonise about the plight of this little hamster at the top left hand corner who is squished-squashed by his sleeping fellas...hee.

And, there was this doggie in the window:

caught in that awkward position, hohoho. but he seemed to be enjoyin his newfound naked self...vaaah

Great day yesterday. Pasar malam food for dinner was unhealthy, but a craving we had to satisfy. Love the takoyaki, ramly burger, tapioca cakes and big juicy peanuts.

Anyway, gotta leave for work.
Hope it's gonna be another great day.....Ciaoz
