My mum was complainin about me being a tech geek the other day. She thought that the stuff that I do are all boy's play, the gadgets that i deal with are all boys' toys. I couldn't agree more. She gaped when she saw how i managed the tripod with ease, sher gaped when she saw the dua3 gi1 lens i attached to the camera body, she gaped whenever she sees me deal with photog stuff.

Yesterday, Vincent was teachin me all the web admin stuff. Another geeky thing. Im becoming a geek nerd. But all those stuff are kinda easy, once you get the hang of it. Trying to better master photoshop, since all i know now are the basics. But i don't have 7.0 on my laptop, which is a waste, photoshop elements is kinda sucky. (geek talk)

Videography is quite close to photography. At least some of the skills i have in photog can be applied the same way. I hope learnin all these stuff early, i might lead an easier life in cs.

By the way, you should really ask for my autograph, i might be a great photojourn one day and it might come in handy. LOL. Im always jokin that I want to do overseas reporting in Iraq, Afghanistan and places like that (you get the drift), so i might die early (choy), and the photos will appreciate in price.

Seow Si Min has the upper hand, since i leave all my photos and portfolio in the hall room. She might be a billionaire overnight, so stick close to her.

The power of imagination,
Moon.

that's my baby. he's damn hardcore.

the grip is good. the feel is good. overall, im happy with him. it's a him, because it's SEXY. oops. goin mad.

i think i caught the influenza from my afroangel. the virus of short sentences. they're not even sentences.

Great bargains at the comex. thought the package for d40x was way more enticing compared to d80, although i can hardly afford the d80. it might be a case of sour grapes. But im satisfied, really. OKOK, for the time being.

My first project would be for the SPH new media project on Getai photography. More photos on deviant. WEEEEE.

I went getai the other day too. FUN.

Next up would be the Lantern Extravaganza at Chinese Garden i hope. Anyone interested? Ah Hua? SSM? Or any new photography enthusiasts?

Feel like im living the life of a reporter now. Because there are deadlines to meet. Though i earn peanuts, and the deadlines are not really tight. Being part of the SPH and Nanyuan stuffs is really exciting me. Because i just love to write, especially in Chinese. 我是说真的.

JCRC stuff started too. This week. :):):)

startin the new era of short sentences,
moon with love. full stop.

this week is full of thunders, storms, rain, drizzles and more water.

Especially cant stand the flooding of the toilet.

twas' the rally yesterday.

We gave a resounding YES as an answer to the question.

I said it willingly, however, only apprehensive about the time i have to spend away from home.

Weekends without home would be torturous. But i can make it through all this.

BTW, i made a mistake, homesong stories' sneaks only starts tomorrow. So JP might be showing it after all.

P.S: it's time for war at COMEX

*wink

Close friends around me know i have so many laogong*s i can't even remember how many i have. But to help you tell them apart(it's actually rather easy), and to save the trouble of asking which laogong i'm referring to the next time when i scream "MY LAOGONG" in glee...here's a little wikipedia help from me:

Actually, they all have something similar, which is, they are kind of old. Because Ms Moon prefers her men mature and ok....old.

I think the first guy here is almost every woman's fantasy, because he's oh-so-eccentric. And you guess it right if you've discovered that I like the guys unshaven and unkempt.

I love him in all his indie films..great acting chops are always a bonus. Anyway, Captain Jacksparrow was a good one too, apparently, every woman loves a pirate with a bottle of rum.

Then we have Mr A-Yue:

Rocker/ Musician has a style that shouts flamboyant. He's the only guy i'd find cute and sizzling in a pair of kiddy berms. No kidding. Anyway, please buy his new album. Oh... 思念是一种病...oh...

Ok, now, if you didn't forget, i once said Shi Xiong from scifoc was hot, and that's because he bears a teeny weeny resemblance to my Laogong, Francis Ng aka 吴振宇. A bit gay, a bit man, he's the perfect anatomy of a modern metrosexual. :)woots

The last one im introducing is local and REAL! Because i touched him. .....ARGH

Okok, i shook hands with him. He's Mr Vivian Balakrishnan.

I'm smitten with him because he always gives a charismatic smile and a charismatic speech. I'm hopeless.

I hope now you have a clear idea who's who...told you it wasn't that difficult, eh? My new eye candy, btw, is Ron Weasley aka Rupert Grint, he's not old, but he's cute and tall.

Anyway, the other day was my last day at Billy Bombers, and we took some crazy photos:

adrian just won't smile

zhongliang, me and mr donz

me and aiman with our beloved soggy fries

me and amy-san

Naturally, i won't miss the cleaning of tables, mopping of floors and all the dirty work, but i'll miss:

1. the positive feedback forms from the customers
2. ridiculous customers who are great entertainment only when you're in a good mood
3. looking at shuaiges while hosting. The other day, while i was standing Area A, the guy with the crutches was cute. (shameless)
4. playin word games with jac
5. catchin xiaoqiang for amy
6. gossipin about Alex...i know this sounds bad, but aiyah, words can't kill him, he's from a weird species.
7. meeting mr donz's gaze and then giggling after that. it's almost a ritual.
8. listen to mr donz serenade the moon....MOON RIVER....
9. tryin to annoy Haze, only sometimes. Honestly, she isn't that bad.
10. talking to Aiman. Aiman sometimes asks really weird questions, but i always love answering them. You rock man.
11. crappin with seow si min. this one is ultimate.
12. wondering why Adrian doesn't smile.
13. eating cold and soggy fries
14. Free Ben and Jerry's!!!
15. the 25% staff discount!!!!!

OK.

I was turnin around in my bed yesterday because i was thinkin too much. Seow simin will kill me if she reads this, but i thought of her two arch nemesis while in bed yesterday. They are Mr Marcius and Mr Edwin. Where are they? I haven't heard from them in such a long time, i bet they've been abducted by their fellow Martians. I'm itchin to go on some shootin expe, my deviantart is rottin and fallin apart, due to the dearth of works. Yet, i still haven't got any good gear to shoot with.Feel like joinin noisesingapore or the stomp comp. Anyway, guys, please do some browsing at my gallery if you have the time, they badly need some visiting. it's effendi-x.deviantart.com

Tis' the season to have gatherings....falalala lalalala~

Sms-ed the photog girls for a dinner meeting this Sun. Well, i won't say i miss the guys very much yet it's nothing against them that this is a just-girls gathering. It would spare us the agony of too much boys-talk (maybe), imagine the common topics of Weihan, Edwin and Marcius...too much photog, too much ns, esp too much squabbling with Marcius and Edwin around. So, will leave the complete exco gathering til later.....

Lookin forward to the np gathering during the camp provided that everyone gets enthusiastic about it!!! Even if it's just a simple walkin around cchsm and going for dinner after that, it would be great, because it's been really too long since the last time i've met up with them.

Anyway, i really adore the new Gatsy ad with Takuya Kimura swaying and medddling with his hair...really classy...oozes sex appeal..to the brim...*grins*

I'M GOING GRRREEN.....

I hope I mean it when i've said this, but recently, the Al Gore wave has kindof swept me off my feet, and whoosh, I'm like nodding nodding when it comes to another Al Gore comment on global warming.

Hmmm....

What can we do to save precious Earth?

1. TRY to separate the garbage into "paper", "plastic bottles" and "unsortables". Provided i can get the consent of my mum who will always give the vote for convenience. But like Mr Gore says, saving the earth can sometimes be very "inconvenient"

2. Take as little bags as possible when going shopping.

3. No air con. (something i've been practising since young) Geez, see i started from a young age. We should always start young. Educate the kids!! Use biodegradable diapers!

4. Use 2 sides of the paper

5. Use lesser toilet paper. Use biodegradable toilet paper. But i don't think i can commit to the famous Sheryl Crow's technique of using one square per sitting. Ridiculous!

I hope we can all go green together.

By the way, I went for the College Day ceremony the other day. And i made physical contact with Mr V Balakrishnan!!!!!OOH... Ok, i won't make it sound so lewd. Okok, i merely shook hands with him. AND I SWEAR MY HEART SKIPPED A BEAT...

Seriously, he's a natural speaker and he was so good with his speech and oh-so-charismatic. I'm starting to understand why his wife is called Mrs Joy Balakrishnan. I would be called Joy too if i get to be called Mrs Balakrishnan. Damnit, i didn't manage to get a good photo of him.

But, here's me with something he had touched:

We viewed the Photog exhibition and it was actually quite good this year. Though i always thought the Scope is not very accessible hence the dearth of people every year. Personally, i liked Wee Chuan's works because those really stood out from the rest. And i'm very glad that all of them have improved in their skills. It was overall, a good exhibition put up by them and i could really see the efforts.

We left a funnily-crafted feedback for the comments book:

And i added in something like:
"Where's Marcius? Where's Weihan? Where's Edwin? Where's Wanying? Where's Adeline?"
Because, honestly, we should lend our support to the juniors for the brilliant showcase of their works....hootx.

It was great talking to the teachers. We spent such a long time talking to Miss Wong, Mrs Lee, Miss Kwan, 彭老师 and Mr V. After that, we went shopping for Simin's prez @ Orchard and like how Simin put it, we always become very 狼狈 when we go out together.

This time round, the heels hurt like hell!

Anw, here's a spontaneous poll: please respond in the tag board:

If there were only two pair of shoes left in the world, and you had to wear one, which one will you put on:

1. A disgustingly hideous pair of muddy-green crocs
2. A pair of Cinderella heels---beautiful but bites like crazy + it's impossibly high with stiletto heels :):) evil

Choose and state your reason, please.

I don't know what my answer will be, but i'm guessing it might be no.2. Gosh, crocs are crazy!

Anyway, please take a look at THE PLANS in the left column. So many new plans, and im getting excited! Really hope i can get the NDP tix...

Some photos to tickle your toes:

It's amazing how love seems to come with a price tag for the new generation of kids! Pokemon cards, my god.

mei mei grew legs overnight! LMAO...giggle.

P.S: don't forget the shoes poll.

we had our picnic a few days ago. AND YES, WE SAW THE SUN!!! heh heh. But, though the picnic was themed fun in the sun, we had most of the fun in the shade, lol. Especially Huang Jia Min. I think we can award her with the title of Ms 见光死! She totally stayed in the shade the whole while, which explains why she didn't get the burns some of us got. But luckily in a bid to stay my usual fair, i obediently followed the instructions on my Nivea bottle to reapply sunblock every 2 hours. And i got minimal burns, on places that i forgot to apply them on.

Anyway, Photos as usual:

Sun-kissed moon!

Seow Si Min tries to bury herself

And honestly speakin, it was great fun trying to cover her with sand. And we (by we, i mean me, kanghua and tracy) built sandcastles on weird places on the body. And it was hilarious because i made her so ticklish by patting so hard on the sand. A piece of art..hehe.

loads of food for the picnic

Card playing

Besides playing cards, we played lame games with our mp3s. Gettin someone to plug in loud music with earphones and singin out of tune, so the rest can guess the song. Damn lame, but nonetheless fun!

me and seow couldn't resist playin police and thief in the sunny waters...

And of course, a day at the beach, the sun, the waters, the sands, with all these elements present, no photography buff can resist some cool shots (though i wasn't in the mood for serious shooting, i did some weird stuff...):

i'll consider posting them on deviant, i've got to be selective, since they're still far from great. Anyway, i stumbled upon one Singaporean photographer in Deviant who's really good at architectural captures, which i really appreciate since i love Kilk and Kilk's works are urban style photography too. Anyway, this Singaporean goes by lxrichbirdsf and i'm going to watch him. You should too, the link is lxrichbirdsf.

anyway, we caught Forest of Death after the picnic at vee-vo cee-nee-maa, and i'd deeply discourage you from catchin it, unless you're really into psyche sci-fi horror that makes no sense
